Virtual Recital 2020
In June 2020 we had our first ever virtual flute and piano recital! It was a great experience for both the students and their families. We held it on YouTube and FaceBook and it was only accesible to friends and family who were invited by the students. We had over 170 views! The actual concert was a private event, but my students gave me permission to share the grand finale with you. Here is an arrangement written specifically for my flute students, taking into consideration the varied abilities of those who participated.
Virtual Halloween Party 2020
In October 2020, we held a Frightening Flutes and Kreepy Keyboards Virtual Halloween Party (that's a mouthful..).
We had sooo much fun! This was a chance for students to prepare well known pieces (Danse Macabre by Saint-Saens, In the Hall of the Mountain King by Grieg, Nightmare Before Christmas etc.) or pieces with spooky effects created by their instruments. We created virtual group pieces of some of the older students by videotaping them playing multiple parts and using video editing software.

Annual Celtic Parties
Every March, I hold a Celtic Party for my students. During their flute or piano lessons, each student prepares a Celtic Piece or two and we perform for each other accompanied by a live band. The event is casual, without an audience, and we have a blast! Here is a slide show of photos from over the years.
Year End Recitals
In June, I hold a recital at a nearby church in Hudson, PQ (near St.Lazare, Vaudreuil, Rigaud, Hawkesbury, Ile Perrot) to celebrate all the accomplishments my students have made during the year. Each student prepares two pieces to perform. Flutes and recorders are accompanied by piano or guitar and I organize trios and quartets to rehearse and perform together. This concert is held every year but the day is usually so busy that we forget to take photos!
